Why Olamide’s New Song, ‘Wo’ May Likely Send Him To Jail – See Why

Olamide Adedeji, indigenous rapper, may be at risk of a N3 million fine and one-year jail term for promoting the use of tobacco in his recently released video, Wo.
The federal ministry of health has notified the public that the rapper violated the 2015 tobacco act, warning that the video had “dangerous public health content”.
“The public is informed of the dangerous public health content & violation of 🇳🇬 Tobacco Control Act 2015 in “Wo” by @olamide_YBNL #ClearTheAir,” the ministry wrote on Twitter.
“The content & video contains scenes that violates the ban on Tobacco Advertising, Promotion & Sponsorship provision of the act #ClearTheAir.”
The 28-year-old rapper, who is signed to his own record label, YBNL, had returned to Ladi Lak in Bariga where he was raised to shoot the video for his latest single.
According to the 2015 Tobacco Control Act, it is prohibited to promote or advertise tobacco or tobacco products except between a manufacturer, retailer and consenting persons above 18 years of age.
“No person shall promote or advertise tobacco or tobacco products in any form,” it reads.
“No person shall engage or participate in any tobacco advertising, promotion or sponsorship as a media or event organizer, celebrity or other participant.”
According to the 2015 law, anyone who violates the law faces the risk of a fine and jail term of not more than one year.
“Person that produces or publishes advertising, promotion or sponsorship content and shall attract a fine of not less than N3,000,000 and a term of imprisonment of not more than one year.”

Photos: Lagos Uber Driver Who Stole Lady’s Bag Containing Her Passport & Over N1Million Arrested

Yesterday, A female first time visitor was left stranded in Lagos Nigeria, after an Uber driver  robbed her of over a million naira. The victim, who is a South African and has been identified as Mo (Mongy Mathobela), wrote: “I’m a visitor in Nigeria. I went to the bank to withdraw money in Lekki, so he saw the money that I had it in my bag. He left me stranded on the road luckily, I had my phone on me because I wanted to buy something on the side of the road. I even bought him food and paid him more than what he was supposed to be paid and inside my bag it was my passport and money 500k naira and $2000. Please help me share this so that I can get my passport and go back to my country my flight is on Thursday I do not have a passport. Pls help.” Now, the Uber driver has been arrested.. This exactly what happened plus all the SMS’ he sent his victim. “He was able to drive off with the bag because she was to pick up a document from one Yemi in bakare estate,agungi and head to South Africa
